Do Mp3s get "recompressed" after Upload?

Sorry if this issue has already been addressed (couldn't find anything about it by searching), but I've noticed that when streaming mp3s from my "my music" section they sound noticeably more compressed than they do when I play the same files natively on my computer. Or am I just crazy? lol

And if they are re-compressed on our end, is the Taxi reviewer hearing it the same way?

Just wondering if someone could shed some light.

I'm seeing more people noticing that lately. the songs seem to be getting over compressed and coming out swooshy sounding on the stream. but the download should be ok. Something going on with the steam lately.

Maybe Taxi can check into this?
