Inquiry about parking while at the rally

Post by johncolumbo » Mon Oct 13, 2014 3:32 am

Hey Guys,

This year I'll be staying with family and renting a car and driving back and forth to the Westin and needing to park for the day while there. Any advice from the locals or others that have done this before? This is my second rally. Last year I came by myself and stayed at the Westin, so I just took the shuttle from LAX to the hotel.

Thank you for any bits of wisdom.

Hey, last year I parked in the Westin's parking structure (entrance on the west side of the hotel) and the cost had to be reasonable since I can't remember how much it cost
I also forget wether Taxi gave us voucher tickets at the sign in table.
I seem to think we were given discounted rates....
But I could be easily mistaken.
I'll be parking there again.

I called the hotel and asked for the all-day/max. parking fee for non-hotel guests, with a discount for Taxi RR attendees.
The answer I got was "$17.00".
The font is "huge"... is the price? :? 8-)

fwiw: still a slim chance I could be a last-minute "be there"; hoping, hoping, hoping.
HTH; Cheers.

Hey guys, thanks for replying. I called Taxi the other day too (before I saw this post) and they said that they hand out vouchers (like you mentioned Cass) and that the rate is between $7 and $10 a day for RR attenders. Not bad at all.

Thanks again and I hope you can make it Peter!

BUT... does that apply only to guests of the hotel... or also to folks staying "off campus"?
Likely, I'm guessing, hotel guests get the bigger discount/voucher.
I hope you are right, and that it's the lesser amount.

I'm local too and Robert is correct. But fyi, the daily parking voucher doesn't work for in-n-outs in the same day. Last year I had some (@#$!ing) day-gig business mid-day Friday, and the Taxi staff was kind enough to give me an extra voucher. But I asked nicely, and promised I wouldn't tell anyone.

Uh-oh!

Free would be better :)
When I've attended NAMM in Anaheim I've always been able to find free street parking.
LAX will be harder.
I'll let you know what I find.

If you're really the bottom dollar type (and you should be careful about letting folks know that) you could park for free at the Denny's just up the street; I doubt that it's patrolled, because they share a lot with the adjacent Travelodge. Just don't ask me how I know. ;) ;) :D
