I think Tony Rice et al. already did the jazz grass thing and called in "newgrass"

The banner behind them does read "Bluegrass Festival"...
The flute threw me... would have preferred a Dobro or even an accordion there;
to these old ears it made for a weird tonal blend. (a hippy who overstayed his welcome )
And then... there's Bela Fleck... who basically can do anything and it's never "wrong".
