Re: Take a listen please
Ron,
Welcome back:) First off, your icons for your songs crack me up! Especially the Alien one! lol
Your instrumental pieces really are nice. I love your string choices in them. Lots of clean articulations and some cool quirkiness to them. Also your mixes are very well balanced! I enjoyed listening to them!
i have one, technical thought on your song, "I Love you Forever"... the song with vocals. The vocal performance is awesome but there is a major "noise-gating" that is happening on the vocal track that is killing the hiss and buzz but is a little distracting to the performance. It goes out so fast that it is obvious.
I would try to either EQ, the vocal track and get the high noise floor out and leave the space in between or experiment with having the gate fade out slower so it's not so obtrusive.
Does that make since? It's in between phrases, and sounds like the strip silence or cutting out of the noise floor to preserve quality is too abrupt.
You could also try a Noise Reduction plug-in or it may even be worth re-tracking the vocals and getting a cleaner take.
Hope that helps! Thanks for sharing your tunes! Very cool.
Blessings,
Fuller
