Yes, unfortunately time waits for no man ...
Alvin reinvented himself from being Shane Fenton who had made some good pop hits in the 60's with his group, The Fentones. After being out of the limelight for a few years and more or less forgotten, he came back as Alvin Stardust and reboosted his career with new hits.
He was still belting it out to the Golden Oldie crowd and was actually in the process of releasing a new album.
A shame that he never got to see it happen ...
