Totally bummed... I blew my back out a week and a half ago; compressed/hemmoraged disc. I've spent the last 10 days in mind numbinb pain, mostly in bed eating muscle relaxers and vicadin like M & Ms. Things finally loosened up yesterday, and today I think I'll transition from acute/pain management to active therapy.

I hate to not go, but I've chewed up 10 days of time off at work, and the thought of sitting on a plane for even 3-5 hours right now is about as appealing as having an ear cutoff with a dull butter knife. Sitting down is almost impossible with this disc.

The really sad part is that my wife was totally looking forward to this trip. She really likes to go with me and attends the keynote events, then heads to the beach or on some site-seeing/shopping destination, then joins me for dinner and the eve festivities. She's as bummed as I am.

Hoist a glass of find Kentucky bourbon (or diet coke or whatever yer vice is) for me. I'll be with you in spirit..
