1930's to 1940's sounding JAZZ SONGS

Post by FMstereo » Wed Nov 05, 2014 3:32 am

Louise Goldberg and I got a forward for this listing for our song, Get Up Off the Floor!

ORIGINAL, 1930's to 1940's sounding JAZZ SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by an A-List Music Licensing Company for a number of high-end Film and TV placements. Give them Down-to-Mid-Tempo Songs in the Jazzy stylistic ballpark of legends like Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, etc. Quoting the source: "Heartbreaking ballads in the style of Billie Holiday, to more celebratory songs like Louis Armstrong would do will all work for me. It's all about the overall feel and vibe. The music has to throw the listener back to the era, with an overall believable sounding performance." Submit beautifully executed Jazz songs that have lush instrumentation, well-performed vocals, and an overall arrangement that sounds like it came straight out of that era. Universal lyrics that avoid specific names, places, dates, times, and brands are needed. Do not copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, and tone. This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 deal. You must own or control 100% of your Master and Copyright to pitch for this. Broadcast quality is needed (great home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than Wednesday, October 15, 2014. TAXI #Y141015JZ

I haven't done much jazz, but this was a fun collaboration! Louise on piano, Mary Reynolds doing the vocals, Barry Titone on sax and produced by Scott Free!

Cheers
