Interesting Taxi-TV with Robin F last evening (in case you missed it);
topic was primarily about importance of the Chorus; also discussed song-structure in general.

This is first go and a work-in-progress: guitars and scratch vocals to a click/loop only:

Peter,
The opening instrumental sounds fantastic re: Rythm and flow
The lyrics are beautiful!
The vocals feel like Simon and Garfunkel
Nice work!

Hey Peter,

Great song. Did you purposely leave out the bridge?
Because I defenitely heard room for one while listening to the song.

Thank you very much for the kind words.
The omission of a Bridge was not by purpose or design. I simply wrote out the lyric that told the story I wanted to tell; and there 1) wasn't more I wanted to say; 2) I don't like songs to run longer than 3:30 max... 3) the "chant" part at the end is sort of a substitution for a Bridge... and one that would lend itself to a live performance with inviting audience participation.
Does that help answer your question?
Cheers,
Peter

Hey Peter,

That does answer my question! I've been looking into bridges more specifically lately. That includes intentionally leaving out a bridge ;)
All 3 of your arguments make sense although I hadn't thought of the 3rd before. It does make sense that leaving a bridge out makes a song more easier to sing along with. I think it makes it more predictable and keeps the vocal range limited. Very interesting!

Peter,

I personally agree with your choices for this song as far as a bridge. One of the things I use as a decision with that is how long a songs rolls out without one. Of course, if you come up with a killer bridge, you should try to make room for it. :)

This is a really good song and the ending prompted me to pick up my guitar and play some lead fills along with you. (My version of singing along in this case.)
