Thanks for sharing these lyrics. This is actually kind of funny. It pokes fun at the idea of how everyone in modern times uses text messaging to communicate rather than meeting in person or even actually talking on the phone. So all you have to really go by are the messages. Did you plan on having this produced or taking this idea further? Would this be a country song?

For what it's worth... I attempted to delete this post in the Songwriters Nook, and moved it to the Peer To Peer in hopes of getting some feedback as to what genre might work best. My first default is to do old-school Nashville-Country; but this might work with a more Bluesy rendition. Can Blues be funny? Or is that a contradiction right away?
Thanks, Marvin; for the interest and your response.
Cheers,
Peter

I think the old school nashville country idea could work great. I definitely see it as a country song. As for blues that would be interesting to take it there. I never thought of that. Good luck if you do decide to do more with it.

Re: "Text Appeal" - going Bluegrass

Hey, Marvin - thanks for the kind words.
Spent a little time re-working this a bit, and decided that it's gonna get done
Bluegrass style: classic 6-instruments: guitar, banjo, bass, mandy, Dobro, fiddle.
Text Appeal
Verse 1
I've never seen her... we've never met
There's sumpthin special 'bout that girl
Don't know her voice... just her ring tone
When I hear it... she rocks my world
Pre-chorus
Can't judge looks by the things she writes
Her words keep my up nights
Chorus
(Is she pretty?) Well... I don't know
All I know is how she makes me feel
(She could be ugly) like a ol' scarecrow
From what I read... she got text appeal
Mm-mmm... she got text appeal
Verse 2
It's kinda funny... even more, it's crazy
I'm not even sure of her real name
We never talk... it's only some phrases
With a flip-fone she can drive me insane
Bridge
Should we meet? (or... would I regret it?!)
Yeah... I think I might
Best keep things as they are
For now she's just my 'type'
(c) 2014 funsongs, uh-huh
cheers.

(ed: thanks to a comment/reply, I've shortened the title... and like it mo' betah!)

That looks good man! I think that should make an interesting musical composition. Continue to enjoy yourself and others will appreciate it. I like that you already know the instruments you want to use on it to create the sound you are looking for. Keep up the good work and may you have a GREAT 2015. If you turn it into a full song please let me know I would like to hear the finished product.
