Girlgroup Song with HookedLikeHelen and marcblack30 collab

Hi riders,

I got this mix back from Marc. I gave the lyric to Nikki who was gracious enough to put a piano/vocal to it for me. At first there was no V3 or V4 but with the melody she came up with, we both added lyrics for V3. Marc worked his magic with what we had and came up with this. We're looking for feedback on the mix. I'm not sure if this will be good for a girlgroup pitch or Film/TV. We're looking forward to your thoughts and suggestions. Thanks for the listen.

Great job Darin. The vocals on the track sound thin, like they're being processed through a phone. If this is an effect you are going for I would suggest putting the filter on an aux channel so that the some of the unprocessed vocals can come through. They need some mids to punch through the mix. Also, I would add a touch of grit to the sub bass to give it some more presence. It'll make it so you can hear your bass line even when you don't have a subwoofer.

Great song. Really well thought out lyrics and of course a great production by Marc! I think the voice is fine ( at least on my headphones ). Great job.

Thanks all, should have noted that the vocals at this point are just scratch... and mp3:) Great tip on the sub bass, this is new territory for me so appreciate the advice!


More work to do on this one, just wanted to get some initial feedback.
