I Knew I’d Find You Here ©2014 Robert George BMI
I stopped by that smoky jazz club
Near the boardwalk on the bay
Then I headed up the coastline
To that quiet French café
Though I hoped that I might see you
It was like you’d disappeared
Then the night grew dark and cold,
Distant bells began to toll
And I knew I’d find you here
Then this morning I was hoping
You’d be out at Golf n Stuff
Or that I might catch you jogging
On the beach along the bluffs
But I found you after sunset
And your eyes were bright and clear
This is where my mem’ries hide,
And so I returned tonight
Cos I knew I’d find you here
Daylight won’t reveal your face
Like the darkness seems to do
Anymore I only feel your grace
In sweet midnight dreams of you
People said you’d moved to Stovall
But my heart won’t understand
And I’ve looked into your future
But I’m nowhere in your plans
So at night I turn the light out
And you magically appear
And my dreams are long and deep,
So I’ve lost myself in sleep
Cos I knew I’d find you here
Yes, I knew I’d find you here
I knew I’d find you here…
I Knew I'd Find You Here
