Need help with conflict in mix
Hi guys,
I know there must be some sounds conflicting somewhere. You can hear it at 0:18 where the volume drops. I low cut everything and tried to make space but still getting this volume drop.
Lets see I have 2 fall hits (one of the hits is an explosion hit), 2 bass lines, a synth line, a cymbal crash and a snare build.
Any ideas why the volume drop?

Thanks

What compressors and limiters are on your master bus? It sounds like you need to fix the problem by sidechaining before it hits your master. Or... multiband compression on the master bus is a quick-fix for that maybe.
Edit: the L2 on the master would really bring out the stuff that got killed at :30, but you might screw up the kick punch... hmmm...
Edit 2: GK, DUDE! your stuff is getting Sooooo much better! WOW!!

Thanks Russell. I have nothing on the master buss I just send up to LANDR.
Its gotta be one of the samples. Maybe one of the hits. Might see if I can change it out and see if that fixes it.

Hi,
It could be that you have a signal or sample that is out of phase with the other parts. This would cancel out some of the sound giving you a lower volume.
Just my thoughts from what I heard.

Thanks Myran. Thats what I was thinking. So maybe to find that out of phase sample or sound I can maybe mono each sound until I find the culprit. Or maybe just mute each one until I find the culprit. I'll try that..

Hi again,
If you are going to listen in mono, do it in pairs. You could also try muting one channel at a time to see which channel / sound is causing the sound to cancel out do to phase.

Thanks. What I plan on doing is muting one of the sounds and uploading track to LANDR to master and basically go through the sounds like this until I find the one I need to fix.MJRivard wrote:Hi again,
