Boo Yow! This got forwarded a music supervisor.

HIP HOP INSTRUMENTALS with a throwback vibe are needed by a Music Supervisor for a Non-Exclusive Placement in the end credits of a popular TV Series. He’s looking for Mid-Tempo Instrumentals in the general stylistic wheelhouse of Ratatat, Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, etc., etc., etc. Please check out the following references to get yourself in the ballpark: “Five” by Ratatat:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1j9gum7p0M “Unbelievable - Instrumental” by Notorious B.I.G.:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdL2e1MrTgY “I Get Around - Instrumental” by 2Pac:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mfzre9DscmY Quoting the source: “I’m looking for an end credit track and I currently have ‘Five’ by Ratatat temped in, which works well, so I’m trying to find something similar. It should have the same type of attitude/swagger without getting too crazy. Keep it simple. Ideally the track should have a throwback vibe, but with a contemporary sound and production quality.” Give him swagtastic Instrumentals that are cool, rhythmically bouncy, somewhat subdued, with a straightforward approach. Your beat should be tight, with cool melodic hooks to keep it interesting throughout. You’d be wise to avoid anything that’s overly busy of frenetic for this pitch.

Nice one! I like how it stays sparse and then breaks into orchestral at :45 ... nice contrast.

Thanks, Jim!
I must admit I was following the reference track they are using as a temp track.

Such a cool track. The screener commented that my track was a really good match vibe-wise, that got it forwarded. I kinda cheated in that sense, I got the basic elements of the reference and played around with notes that were used til I got something just different enough to avoid being accused of ripping it off, but still trying to capture the same feeling.

My man! Gonna listen when I get home. But if it's hip-hop from Owen, I know it'll be good!
