Looking for lyricists/topliners/singers.

Post by BenjaminDerclaye » Fri Mar 06, 2015 6:04 pm

Hi all,

I'm a Belgian music-professional currently residing in Australia. I compose, engineer, mix and produce music for a living. Lately I started to prioritise my professional attention towards songwriting and I have been writing daily for the last eight months now. However, I do feel that working on my own is blocking the process a bit, especially in the lyric department as a non-native speaker. Therefore I'm pro-actively calling out here to look for co-write opportunities.

I'm looking for:
- Lyricists
- Singers
- Topliners
- All or a combination of the above.
- Good communication and follow-up (No weeks of waiting for a simple written feedback)
- Ability to record their own vocals is a plus.
- I would love to work with passionate people who take their craft and passion as serious as I do. (Music is my means of income so I have to).

I offer:
- Equal share in rights if you're a co-writer/lyricist (Don't care if you write one note or all of them, always equal shares.)
- 10% IP for people who provide their singing services (no writing involved). Exchange for producing/engineering services is negotiable.
- Good communication and follow-up
- Very strong work ethic from my part ( I write, look for opportunities in and out of TAXI, pitch to multiple A&R's and publishers, network on a daily basis).

I'm currently managed and mentored by a big publisher in Australia and Europe to make sure I improve in what I do. I am NOT contractually obliged to him, however we do exchange briefs and opportunities on a daily basis.

Sorry for the long request but thought I might make it very clear who I'm looking for. I wasted to much of my little time already on the "Yeah we definitely should work together!"-kind of people who never took the time to listen to one song but are happy to spend several hours a day on social media. Novice and professionals.

Thanks in advance for indulging me!
Cheers

Hey Ben!

My name is Megan :) I'm 21 and live in Basking Ridge, NJ, USA. I am a lyricist. I checked out your website and soundcloud. I'm really impressed, you do great work! I especially like "So Long". I could go on talking about myself but I thought I'd let my lyrics speak for me. Let me know if you're interested in collaborating together. Here are three of my songs posted below. Let me know what you think!! Thanks!

Oppressor

Intro:
Looking in my eyes there’s a lot to find
Debris from the pain left right behind
Can’t even fake a smile this time
Life is hilly but I keep falling on the climb

Verse 1:
Tears pouring out like a waterfall
Guess I can admit I’ve finally hit a wall
But not just any wall stands in my way
You’re my oppressor and I am your prey

Chorus:
You're my oppressor
Professor of my flaws
Suppressor of my happiness
Aggressor without cause
Oppressor!
Stressing me, depressing me
To the point where I can't breath
Forcing me onto my knees
Cuts run up and down my sleeves
Oppressor!
Watching myself bleed
Just to know I'm still alive
To God I plead
As I struggle to survive
Oppressor!

Verse 2:
Can’t fake an ego to disguise my insecurities
Stuck in a state of pain obscurity
Ghastly thoughts storming through my mind
Knowing my imperfections are how I’m defined

Chorus:
You're my oppressor
Professor of my flaws
Suppressor of my happiness
Aggressor without cause
Oppressor!
Stressing me, depressing me
To the point where I can't breath
Forcing me onto my knees
Cuts run up and down my sleeves
Oppressor!
Watching myself bleed
Just to know I'm still alive
To God I plead
As I struggle to survive
Oppressor!

Bridge:
You've made me hate who I’ve become
My body’s weak, my heart is numb
Embarrassed of what there is to see
Ashamed of just being me
Worthless, hopeless, loveless, wordless
I can’t keep living this way
What doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger
Or so that’s what they say

I’m done with this war
I’m done being the mat underneath your door
I'm putting my broken pieces back together on a shelf
Because now I’m finally learning how to love myself

Chorus:
You're my oppressor
Professor of my flaws
Suppressor of my happiness
Aggressor without cause
Oppressor!
Stressing me, depressing me
To the point where I can't breath
Forcing me onto my knees
Cuts run up and down my sleeves
Oppressor!
Watching myself bleed
Just to know I'm still alive
To God I plead
As I struggle to survive
Oppressor!

Conclusion:
Talk is cheap
But thoughts cut deeper
As you come nearer
Face to face everything becomes clearer
I’m finally putting an end to my oppressor standing in the mirror
--------------------------------------
Grey Goose

INTRO:
Was it how her scent filled the air?
Was it the taste of her on your lips?
Was it the way she made you feel?
Or the shape of her hips?

VERSE 1:
She left your heart empty
But kept you begging for more
You became obsessed, addicted
Under her spell at every pour

CHORUS:
She's got your mind corrupted
Your priorities mixed up
When will you realize
You've had enough?
She's got you acting in a different way
Speaking words you wouldn't say
Leading your life astray
Don't be her prisoner, don't be her prey

VERSE 2:
I tried to win you back
But compared to her I was no match
I just couldn't compete
You held onto her with a latch

I should have known I stood no chance
The way you wanted her, needed her, craved her
The way you cherished her in your hands

CHORUS:
She's got your mind corrupted
Your priorities mixed up
When will you realize
You've had enough?
She's got you acting in a different way
Speaking words you wouldn't say
Leading your life astray
Don't be her prisoner, don't be her prey

BRIDGE:
You chose the bottle over my heart
You let my hand slip loose
As your life fell apart
But still holding tight to your grey goose

CHORUS:
She's got your mind corrupted
Your priorities mixed up
When will you realize
You've had enough?
She's got you acting in a different way
Speaking words you wouldn't say
Leading your life astray
Don't be her prisoner, don't be her prey
Please don't let her take your life away
------------------------------------------------
Fighter

INTRO:
Walking through fire
You best believe I got burned
But when I came out alive
You wouldn't believe what I learned

VERSE 1:
The darkness makes the light
That much brighter
Going in weak
But coming out a fighter

CHORUS:
Ready to give up
Down on my knees
I pray for peace
I pray for ease
I say make me fly with the breeze
Stand me tall with the trees
Have me flow with the seas
And buzz with the bees
But then hope whispers softly
Please
Life may push your buttons like piano keys
But this world has no guarantees
And every day you must seize
Because you’re a fighter
A fighter
A fighter
So give yourself a chance for the pain to appease

VERSE 2:
Without the hardships
Without the storms
We wouldn't appreciate the good
We wouldn't see a rainbow form

CHORUS:
Ready to give up
Down on my knees
I pray for peace
I pray for ease
I say make me fly with the breeze
Stand me tall with the trees
Have me flow with the seas
And buzz with the bees
But then hope whispers softly
Please
Life may push your buttons like piano keys
But this world has no guarantees
And every day you must seize
Because you’re a fighter
A fighter
A fighter
So give yourself a chance for the pain to appease

BRIDGE:
The sun may not always shine
Your smile may not always be real
But you have to fight through the pain
Can't let your weaknesses reveal

CHORUS:
Ready to give up
Down on my knees
I pray for peace
I pray for ease
I say make me fly with the breeze
Stand me tall with the trees
Have me flow with the seas
And buzz with the bees
But then hope whispers softly
Please
Life may push your buttons like piano keys
But this world has no guarantees
And every day you must seize
Because you’re a fighter
A fighter
A fighter
So give yourself a chance for the pain to appease

CHORUS:
Ready to give up
Down on my knees
I pray for peace
I pray for ease
I say make me fly with the breeze
Stand me tall with the trees
Have me flow with the seas
And buzz with the bees
But then hope whispers softly
Please
Life may push your buttons like piano keys
But this world has no guarantees
And every day you must seize
Because you’re a fighter
A fighter
A fighter
So give yourself a chance for the pain to appease

Written for vzw. Lemme know what you think.

Take a walk with me
I'll take you on a journey
To a place you've never been
To a place you've never seen

All our lives
Being told to do this
All our lives
Hiding from us what is

Let your mind shut down
Sensory-go-round
Let your body go
Leave everything you know

All our lives
Being told to do this
All our lives
Hiding from us what is

Free you're mind
Never know what you'll find
Doesn't matter what they say
Just be yourself all day

All our lives
Being told to do this
All our lives
Hiding from us what is

They don't want me
I'll ruin the party
Let em know what is
Open up the bliss

HI

I am available for co-write and also WFH singer. Usually I charge a basic flat affordable rate for work for hire vocals as I make my main living as a musician, and well, you know ;) We can negotiate on that point as well as the exchange for production... I write a lot and am always looking for help with production. Here is a link to my Soundcloud. https://soundcloud.com/michellelockey

Let me know what you think. I always like to make new connections and work with new people.

I'm a lyricist who's always seeking collaborators.
Can provide ready written lyrics for music to be composed to, so if you can write to existing lyrics please let me know and we can exchange some ideas.

Hi Benjamin,
I checked out your productions on Soundcloud and I like what I hear, particularily So Long and Venus and Jupiter.
I am a professional musician living in Dublin, Ireland.I am classically and jazz trained,I play 3 instruments (bass, guitar, keyboards ),I own a home studio (Protools/Reason) and I have a lot of arranging skills..
I can write lyrics in any style required, and in any genre, either lyrics to melody, lyrics to a given idea, lyrics on their own and you provide the music or a collaboration of both music and lyrics and arrangement.I can also record vocals in my studio.I offer a fast turnaround time of roughly one week for a lyric.

I am also familiar with doing toplines

I have a number of my songs available on my soundcloud account https://soundcloud.com/saturnsongs

I have a lot of lyrics available in many genres and you can contact me via email at jpmohalloran@gmail.com if you would like to receive some.

I enjoy the process of collaborating on material and whilst I find it fun and stimulating, I also take it quite seriously.

Cheers,

John O Halloran.

Hi Benjamin,

I'm very interested in working with you. I have several songs in need of a co-arranger and would love to speak with you further about it. You can listen to my music here: http://WWW.SOUNDCLOUD.COM/THE-FATES/SET ... SIDERATION. I produced "Partner in Crime" (which is in need of more production).

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi all,

First of all, I wanted to thank you all for the overwhelming response on my post. I really didn't think it would be so successful. Unfortunately, I just had a couple of very sudden and busy weeks (work and personal) and wasn't able to reply to everyone yet. I will come back to you to each and every one of you as soon as my schedule permits it.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks again.
