Want to hire help to get started with pro tools 11

Post by lonerd » Sun Apr 05, 2015 12:43 am

I would like to hire someone to talk on the phone through getting my pro tools to work.
I am having a difficult time getting started using pro tools. Do you know of anyone that helps to:
Get sound configured to the mbox
How to get a session started
and then import mp3s into that session?

I have a technical background, but pro tools bests me, and I am on ground zero. I listen and study you tube videos, but the directions never work.

I spent hours with the factory, and I am sure it is installed correctly.

I Got sound once but I forgot how to reconfigure the sound away from the computer speakers.
to the Mbox.
Cannot seem to get the sequence of how to start a session and then import a stereo file into the session.
my email is douglaskobrien@yahoo.com.

It seems the setup menu is where you go for your configuration settings.

I don't use pro tools, but generally the main dropdown menus are pretty standard fare these days among most programs. You know those File Edit header menus.

File is usually where you would go to open and name a new session or project, whatever they call it in pro tools, also to import various files.

The best way to get acquianted with software is to open and explore those header menus,

I have gotten past my initial barrier by listening to some tutorial audio dozens of times.
Thanks for the sources.

Try Lynda.com

They have tutorials on many artist programmes
Sign up free for one month on a trial basis

I learned most of what I know about Logic Pro X there
They have courses on Pro Tools 11
It's served up in 3 - 5 minute easy to understand videos
Open your program and their video and try things out

You can go and just look at what they have to offer

Free for one month
