That cool moment when YOUR music is the reference track

Post by VanderBoegh » Fri May 15, 2015 9:49 am

This put a big enough smile on my face this morning that I thought I'd share it with you all. I was looking at an instrumental hip hop listing this morning and clicked the YouTube link to check out the references. Lo and behold, some of the referenced music in the show was mine! If you're looking to kill a few minutes, you can check it out here:

I've time-stamped these links, so they should take you directly to my music on "Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi_ObzbD2Vs#t=0m52s (if the timestamp doesn't work, it's at :52)

and

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi_ObzbD2Vs#t=5m34s (if the timestamp doesn't work, it's at 5:34)

Fun stuff!

Oh, of course this was a result of a Taxi forward about 18 months ago, and subsequent relationship I built with the publisher.

~~Matt

Edit: here's the links to the full tracks on SoundCloud (thanks Peter for the suggestion I include these!)

That's cool, Matt! I was listening to those YouTube tracks yesterday and trying to come up with something for that listing. Very cool that they're your tracks!

Sweet, my brother! Also, thanks for posting the link for the full tracks... I'm streaming and ripping those as I'm posting this. I'll just lay a nice pad or some strings over the top, and I've got a couple more awesome cues. You're the best!

Thanks guys! And don't worry, Robert... I just turned in a whole batch of exclusive music that I stole from your SoundCloud page. I just pitch-shifted the tracks by a 1/2 step and stretched the tempo by 3 bpm's. Wha-lah, 20 instant cues!

Don't worry though, I kinda gave you credit in the titles, with such gems as "Robert Hamilton Goes for a Walk", "Robert Hamilton Makes a Decision", "Robert Hamilton Ponders the Baltimore Riots", "Robert Hamilton Pontificates Eating a Cheese Stick", "Robert Hamilton Does Dallas", etc.

And even though I claimed 100% writer's credit, I'll still buy you a water at the next Rally.

HA!

How about the new exclusive track I just created called "Robert impersonatez the Doc"? I think I'm going to get some good buy-out smackers from this one.

Now that's cool, Matt.

I was hoping you didn't see that listing, though. Now I suppose you are gonna submit and make it hard for the rest of us to be noticed. ;)

I suppose, though, when you're the a'la, the forwards are a gimme.
