Hi all - just looking for ideas of my next step to elevate my productions. I have a good workflow using Slate & Ozone plugs for mix/master and I have the "bread and butter" sounds covered: drums, bass and guitars and keyboards.
I already have Stylus and Trillian so Omnishpere seems like a logical choice, however, I also would like some more cinematic sounds, strings, fx, etc.
And I'm kind of overwhelmed with the options available and my thoughts are:
- I don't anything Native Instruments and Komplete 10 sounds awesome but it seems I would be duplicating a lot of what I already have with Guitar Rig, etc.
- I don't have anything from East West so is the Composer Cloud option a good idea for access to all of their "Gold" libraries? What is Quantum Leap? It doesn't appear to be included in the $49.99 per month (?)
- I've heard great demos of LA Scoring Strings
I'll worry about how to budget for the purchase later right now I'm open for any suggestions regardless of cost...thanks in advance!
Steven

Re: Suggestions for next VST purchase?
IMO:
Komplete ultimate is great, but does have some crossover with Trillian, and Omnisphere (in types of sounds) and of course you are going to duplicate things like guitar rig and Kontakt etc.
my money would be on buying orchestral stuff a la carte to fill in the blanks.
research divisi string writing and which packages do that.
research chamber ensemble sizes and which packages do that.
etc.
YMMV but I wouldn't bother with the EW Quantum Leap Gold stuff (I do have it and I usually mostly use the pianos and some of the storm drum stuff SD2).
IMO there are other libraries which are easier to perform / program, and easier to finish stuff faster.
Look at the walkthroughs on the various websites.
def check LASS, 8dio, Cinesamples, Heaviocity (mostly percussion).
