Electronic Cue for ORIGINAL TV COMMERCIAL STYLE INSTRUMENTAL

Post by TheElement » Sat May 23, 2015 8:34 am

Not sure if they are looking for fast paced electronic music but decided to shorten a track. Should I submit this: https://soundcloud.com/the-element-stud ... rt-version

Do you think this track is what they are looking for? Seems like they are looking for a lot of different genres.

Thanks. 8-)

ORIGINAL TV COMMERCIAL STYLE INSTRUMENTALS are needed for TAXI Compilations that we send out as “calling cards” to Ad Agencies, Music Supervisors working on Commercials, and Film/TV Music Licensing Companies we haven’t worked with yet. We’re looking for a broad range of Instrumental styles that you’d typically hear in Commercials: Scored (stick to a central motif and don’t include multiple “scenes”), Light Acoustic Ensemble, Indie Band Instrumentals, Hip Hop, Pop/Rock, Small Acoustic Instrumental Ensembles, Dance/Pop, Indie Folk Instrumentals, Dubstep, Indie Pop Instrumentals, Solo Piano or Guitar Instrumentals, Small Classical Ensembles, Hick Hop, Minimalist, etc., etc., etc. And for the appropriate genres, please feel free to add handclaps, finger snaps, whistling, and non-lyrical vocals like, “la-la-las” and “do-do-dos.” Your moods can range from Positive and Hopeful, to Fun and Energetic, to Technological or Corporate, to Quirky and Bouncy, to Cosmopolitan and Sophisticated, to Thoughtful and Inspirational, etc., etc., etc. ALL TEMPOS are okay for this pitch. Your submissions should be 30 to approximately 90 seconds long. Non-faded endings are preferred, but not absolutely necessary for this pitch. Easy edit points are a plus! Here are just a few examples of some Advertising Instrumentals. Please do NOT copy or rip them off in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide to get yourself in the general ballpark of the wonderful world of Advertising Instrumentals: Visa Savings Edge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsKPQ4PffxQ Belvedere Vodka: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4620RMppa3s Foot Locker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOsrTBdIhw4#t=20 Subaru Jr. Driver: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFvqpAT9YQk AT&T Moto X: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNcM1-jpNj4 GE Locomotive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0Pd0u22pQo#t=18 GE Robots: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cEQjjy51Fo#t=38 Toyota Camry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roWNzD6Lmf8 TAXI Tip: Our A&R team will be looking for the “cream of the crop” for our compilations, so please don’t get bummed out if your Instrumental doesn’t get selected for this opportunity. It doesn’t mean it’s not good, but we are going to be very selective as we will only be able to use a few tracks for each genre.

I would say it defintley works, the section from 0:44 to 0:53ish is the only part that doesn't keep moving the piece.
stagnates right there, maybe one more added texture and an edit point or two in there somewhere...
Dig what you've been doin!

Thanks Cass. Yeah that piece it kind of holds things steady between 0:44 to 55ish but thats ok. I left it incase they need a section like that for a scene. Normally I try to add in breaks etc and then build up at end. Usually I would break right down at around 1 minute mark and then build back up to an outro stinger ending.

Good ears and great advice. Thanks! 8-)

Sorry I didn't get to listen to this before the listing deadline, but although I agree there's a slight repetitiousness in the section mentioned above, IMO the form works for a commercial or an intense action scene, that area might sit very nicely under dialogue and not pull the ear. Sounds like a winner to me! Good luck with the submission!
