Life Itself ©2015 Robert George BMI
Life itself once drifted on an April breeze
Fragrant as a grove of Maple trees
Now my days are shorter and they’re turning brown
As if life itself is burning down
Yet my dreams remain forever wintergreen
They forbid the years to intervene
So when life becomes a cold December moon
Shadows cast will still remember June
And so I am not afraid to be
Left here with my thoughts again
I know memories are made to see
Who a man has always been
Sometimes dreams and mem’ries see a man of means
Sitting with a beer and can of beans
Life itself is turning yet it’s still untold
Hoping that an epic will unfold
But my days are short and turning brown
As if life itself is burning down...
