Just my guess on Micheals Road Rally secret

Micheal was saying that at the Road Rally, he was going to tell everyone how they could get 10 times more placements for film and tv. Well, here goes my guess. When music supervisors are looking for something they desperately need, I bet you dollars to dough nuts they are going to be looking at the " Title ". If they have 10 songs in front of them and 9 of them say " I love you " and number 10 says " You Light My Stars On Fire ". I think it would be a fast and easy choice to make.

Anyway, that's my uneducated guess. I have been trying to think like a music sup. for the last little while before I write a song. It helps me focus.

Anyone else have a guess ?

I like it. Even if that's not it, I love the idea. I've been trying to do more of this, but it's definitely a challenge for me.

Not sure if that is THE secret, but it is A secret! A good title will pique a music editor's attention, and may be the one thing that makes him/her click on your track over the others. Once they listen, the song will have to be good and fitting. But the title is a great trick to at least increase your chances of getting that initial "click" in a digital list of hundred - or thousands - of pieces of music.

Consider this list and determine which track you'd want to at least click on if you were choosing a piece of music to play during a scene in which a guy discovers his girlfriend has been cheating on him:

Sad Man
Trauma in D Minor
Overwhelming Sadness
Sad 75 bp
Lost and Lonely
Stanky Girlfriend's Dirty Secret
Melancholy 65 bpm G minor

If you're like me, you'll probably gravitate to "Stanky Girlfriend's Dirty Secret" just because it SOUNDS interesting. So it's very important to grab their attention when you're just a title in a list of tunes!!

First of all you have to get more forwards so write more tunes on target and submit

Then make sure that the titles are unique and visually represent the mood.
The Title is Vital.

Really it could be anything but if you have these two things covered the odds will most likely increase.

I have another guess! My guess is that we should also be making various instrumental Versions of all of our Songs since there are so many more usage opportunities (maybe 10x more?) for instrumental tracks?

didnt the claim include more forwards as well? not sure how the title affects a screener's judgement.

but in any case, cant go wrong with a stanky girlfriend.
