Talkin’ Out His Glass ©2015 Robert George BMI
Joe is sittin’ on his bar stool
Sipping on his seventh draft
He complains about his bossman
While the barkeep smiles and laughs
Says if he don’t get promoted
Then his boss’ ass is grass
No one listens anymore,
Cos he’s blown that air before
They know he’s talkin’ out his glass
And poor Tom is drinkin’ cocktails
Gossiping about his ex
Says she’s livin’ with a new guy
So he ain’t sendin’ no more checks
Claims he’ll whup his ex’s boyfriend
Drinkin’ gives him balls of brass
No one pays him any mind,
He gets like that all the time
But he’s just talkin’ out his glass
O there’s a drunkard’s daydream
And there’s what a man might really do
When a wise man listens,
He can tell the diff’rence between the two
One guy orders up a double
Then he sits there cool and calm
Says he hates how things’re goin’
And he oughtta build a bomb
Now the barkeep knows it’s foolish
To make people feel harassed
Though he knows it’s not his job,
He makes a call and tells the cops
That guy’s not talkin’ out his glass
Yeah, though he knows it’s not his job,
He makes a call and tells the cops
That guy’s not talkin’ out his glass
