Hello...

Post by Apathy87 » Sat Jun 27, 2015 6:31 pm

I'm new here, though have been dipping in and out of the forum and the main Taxi site for a little while and thought I'd say hey.

I'm based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK and am a guitarist/singer and singer/songwriter. I have the privilege of an award to my name for a solo performance I did a little while back but most recently I've been finding myself making enjoyable (and arguably easier!) living from teaching music.

I seem to have hit a certain creative flow recently and have been writing more and more. Ever since upgrading my recording equipment and reading about the different aspects of music licensing I have been dedicating every spare moment (and some not so spare!) to writing, recording and mixing with a view to getting my skills up to scratch. I intend to be as proactive as I can on here as there is clearly a lot of useful information to glean and interesting people to meet. Needless to say I'm looking forward to it!

Welcome to Taxi!

This is the best place to learn a lot and meet some very talented and interesting people. The best way to get ahead in a short period of time, is to visit the forum often. Wishing you much luck :)

Welcome to the Forums! This is a wonderful community with great mentors and loads of information available. As I tell my new friends, Taxi Forums are a fun place where people share knowledge, put their egos aside, are not competitive or secretive. Sort of the exact opposite of the real music world! :)

well hello there

Good to see new folkses in the Forums
Let's hear some of your stuff, eh?

You know... I've found that the FASTEST way to improve and get into the flow is to actually DO... like writing to listings and submitting! ;)

All the best

I hear ya! I'm writing every day and have just finished recording a couple of songs today. I can already feel myself getting faster and better and I've only been doing it seriously for a couple of months. Tomorrow - mixing, joining taxi, submitting first track!

I posted a link to my site yesterday, unfortunately it doesn't seem to have appeared - are links to websites only allowed in signatures or something? For a little while everything I posted was getting moderated and taking ages to actually appear but at least that seems to have stopped!
