Hey Peter,

I second some of the other opinions. It doesn't have to be difficult. It all depends on how complicated you want to make it. If you want a pro music video, that takes time and time is money... unless you have some college film and tv students willing to do it for pizza and beer. Otherwise, you just need a computer, a digital video camera and your creative genius. I've got a friend who makes his own videos. Sometimes it's a video from a gig, but often it's just the lyrics to an original (or cover) song scrolling over a montage of pictures.

If you simply want to share your original music with the world, and you have a laptop with a camera built it, you can do it in your living room. Check out some youtube vids from Reina Del Cid (who's been making her own vids since she was a teen) - https://youtu.be/1Gn5r8wVWgU - and from taxi member Glenn Page: https://youtu.be/chI6lha9rzQ.

It's also possible to make significant $$ from youtube videos. According to one list, these are the #4 and 5 earning youtube channels:

5. BluCollection ToyCollector
Annual Earnings: $4.8 million
Subscribers: 1,513,438
Views: 2,622,204,041
This channel provides "kid-friendly videos in Portuguese and Español for toddlers, babies, infants and preschool children." This toy channel posts videos of unboxing and reviewing toys and play sets.

4. DC Toys Collector
Annual Earnings: $5 million
Subscribers: 3,369,452
Views: 4,560,266,446
The channel is very similar to No. 5, and a Buzzfeed report suggests the founder of Disney Collector may be married to the man behind Blu Collection. The videos feature unboxing and demonstrations of high-tech gadgets and children's toys.

They open, set up and play with toys! Check out their videos. I'm pretty sure they're not working with a production crew.

Good luck!
Best regards,
