I once thought my life had little meaning
Searching for an honest breath
And I had no spirit worth redeeming
Drifting toward an aimless death

O and it’s a struggle to walk tall
And leave footprints of the just
Wondering if time sees me at all
Even though I’m only wanderdust

But there’s much more to a human being
Than just taste and touch and sight
I learned faith is knowing without seeing
Guided by an inner light

As we stumble through our youth
We’ll be humbled by the truth
Striving to remain forever free
But unless we lean on grace
Our journey is a waste
Dust we were and dust we’ll ever be
