Moonshine and a Sundress ©2015 Robert George BMI
Well, my Harley started smokin’
Right outside that Georgia farm
Night was fallin’ fast,
And though I didn’t ask
That farmer was polite
Said I could spend the night
Out there in his barn
Then I saw her silhouette
Standin’ by a bale of hay
The scarecrow seemed to turn his head
Even he was blown away
And I swear that nuthin’s hotter
Than that farmer’s daughter
She was lookin’ frisky
With a jug of whisky
She was outta sight
And I must confess
She made me starry-eyed
With moonshine and a sundress
She stayed till the break of day
Hadda shake the hay from our hair
My Harley wouldn’t start
Cos it needed parts
But her daddy said
His barn could be my bed
Till the parts got there
Then she brought a jug of grain
When the night came rollin’ in
I heard that rusty weathervane
Cos his head began to spin
And I swear that nuthin’s hotter
Than that farmer’s daughter
She was lookin’ frisky
With a jug of whisky
She was outta sight
And I must confess
She made me starry-eyed
With moonshine and a sundress
Said I had a cabin in the pines
Near a creek along the Georgia line
And when my bike was fixed
She blew me a kiss
Spoken…
One night I thought I heard an intruder
Looked outside and saw a tricked out Vespa scooter
Then I saw her with a jug
And the moon was blushin’ red
Even my old bear rug
Seemed to raise his head
And I swear that nuthin’s hotter
Than that farmer’s daughter
She was lookin’ frisky
With a jug of whisky
She was outta sight
And I must confess
She made me starry-eyed
With moonshine and a sundress
Moonshine and a Sundress
