Thanks Michael,
I tend to take the references as examples of what would get forwarded. It sounds like you're saying that that might not be the case here - that the references are just to get us in the ballpark for what is being used in beer commercials these days. So I'll do some more listening to other beer ads and then try to come up with something in that vein, but skewed a little more towards the fun and energetic.

Thanks!

Jack

I took in the information and did a gut reaction, it's anybody's guess what they will like. You just have to go for it and get lucky. I haven't even played day frisby lately but I remember going to the park at night to play frisbee. Maybe I can draw upon something from the past and make it new? I do hope a taxi member gets it. I have a specific member in mind, lol.

Hi everyone,

$125K listing should be keeping everyone out of trouble for the next few days. LOL

I remember seeing a RED BULL commercial that showed some night Frisbee being played on the beach. I'm sure there is a YouTube video, that if anything, can provide some visual for inspiration.

I'm guessing like many others, that this will get a ton of submissions. Frankly the instrumental "only" reference tracks weren't very exciting to me. Not sure what the references truly provide, and I don't want to over analyze intros, outros etc, since they will be editing the video to fit the track. I too, think this is wide open and since they aren't looking for a specific genre, I hope every TAXI member takes advantage of this tremendous op. Wishing everyone a forward on this one!

What do you think - does a whistle hook count as a vocal?

hmmm... imho, I'd say if it works... flies like a Frisbee... +1.
whistling can exude a feeling & sense of fun...
(unless you're in a dark alley... :o  :? )

This is a very high bar, competitive listing. I wouldn't chance it with whistle. The listing says:
Note: Although the Coors Light Commercial contains some vocal elements, please submit only instrumentals for this pitch!
It also goes on to say how important it is that the cue doesn't interfere with voiceover or dialog.

So I would say a big NO to whistling. JMHO.

Best

there's something puzzling me with this listing. if they're serious enough about it to pay 125 k for the track, why don't they give a longer deadline? how long have they been planning this ad? i understand the short deadlines for the average listings, but this is something different. i wonder if they've been searching for tracks elsewhere first, with little success, and then they try taxi as a last resort. nothing wrong with that of course, but they could have given us at least one week more. developing great ideas often takes time.
