Alright then, Diane... I'm staying up WAY past my bedtime here...

I put in my fav earbuds to listen. The only thing I can hear that sounds like distortion is in the main "phase-y" instrument. There are some high frequency things going on out on the edges of the Left-Right realm in it that "may" be interpreted as distortion???

But anyway. This is a really cool song. I'm really digging the feel of it. I'm not really sure what "Post Rock" is so I can't speak to the genre. There is one thing that really stands out to me, though, and that is your drums. They really seem to be off in some way with the rest of the song. Timbre/Mixing and also timing (they seem to be a bit off).

Good work on the other instruments and the composition!

Russell

Edit: I'm not hearing it at the stop/start of the track... hmmm... did you normalize this song? Sometimes things that are normalized to 0db will distort?? (grasping here)

Aw thanks Russell, just seeing your reply now.
I shouldn't whine so.
You're right on about those damn drums, gosh I fiddled with the drums for days.
I got it as far as "they sound kind of like rock drums" and left it at that.

Taking a more objective view tho now i can hear lots of stuff I could improve on, clean up the beginning for instance,
I just need to speed up my analysis process, maybe that means taking more breaks.

It's a learning process, and most of the time, it's learning what you didn't know you didn't know ......ha ha
We'll probly all be geniuses one day.

Thankyou so very much for your input, much appreciated my friend :)
