Not sure this matches the listing... Yes? No? Any suggestions? https://soundcloud.com/piewackit-1/lost-this-love
As always thanks in advance.

RETRO-Influenced, Bluesy ALT ROCK SONGS with Male Vocals are needed for a NON-Exclusive (up to $2,000) placement by the Music Supervisor of a Hollywood Feature Film. The Supervisor needs original, Down-to-Mid-Tempo Songs in the stylistic wheelhouse of acts like The Black Keys, Hanni El Khatib, The Heavy, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references to get in the ballpark of what they need: “Too Afraid To Love You” by The Black Keys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laXVRmRAUjU “Worship Song (No. 2)” by Hanni El Khatib: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whDyOCSF6PI “Cause For Alarm” by The Heavy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLt9WziNF2w Please submit Alt Rock Songs with contemporary “lo-fi” production, some retro influence, and a groove that sits nicely in “the pocket.” They’re looking for songs that sound like they’d be on a playlist of people who are fans of the above acts, and have that “real band” sound, as opposed to a “library-ish” quality. If your vocal has an angst-y, Blues-y quality to it, and a little distortion to boot, you just might get to the top of this Supervisor’s list! Lyric themes can be about anything you’d typically expect to hear in a Bluesy, Alt Rock Song. Though the selected song will be used as a background source music placement (likely in a jukebox/bar setting), and having universal lyrics is not all that important, you might give your song a competitive edge by avoiding references to specific names, places, times, dates, brands, and profanity. Do not copy or rip off the referenced acts or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). The estimated license fee for this is $2,000, depending on the ultimate placement. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor pitch, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Publishing rights, plus you’ll also get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties! No Publisher Splits. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. All songs will be screened on a Yes/No basis. No full critiques. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, no later than 11:59PM (PD

Re: I may have lost my way..Any suggestions
Hi Jeff. Loved this. Those examples really seem to run from fairly standard to a bit "off the wall" to me. You've introduced some of your "signature" elements which I always look forward to. Makes it "you" but at the same time you stayed standard enough to fit right into what was called for. I think you have a great shot at a forward. "Fairytale" jumps out a bit and it made me wonder if the vocal might get balanced a bit more (limiting or a little riding levels here and there). Another thought about the vocals, seeing they mentioned distortion in the listing, maybe push that just a bit more (I hear some). All that is just a matter of who is listening and opinion though so whatever you think is probably the right thing to do. Great track!

Thanks Bob for the feedback. This is a difficult one for me as I can't follow the reference tracks all that well. I feel my chorus pulls my tune away from listing. I'll take your suggestions about the distortion on the vocals.

I just don't want you to get your screener comment back and it say there's too much distortion on the vocal.... BOB!!!

Yup, this is good stuff. Loved that vibrato in there. Voc gets lost a little between 42 to 62 and btw the voc is good. This to me is sooooo Hendricks. That is a huge compliment . I think with a little mixing tweaking, this could be a force. Nice work
