Beer Commercial Return

Post by Gypsygal » Fri Aug 14, 2015 1:04 pm

Hey all , just recouperating after appendix surgery so starting to get back in the loop a little. My beer tune got a return and just wondering
did anyone get a forward? It would be great for any future similar listings to see what grabbed their attention. I'm sure
someone did out of I would guestimate hundreds that were submitted.

My critique said my track was engaging but didn't fit the emotion of the scene well enough,
too bad we can't see these scenes.
Would make it so much easier to meet their needs a whole lot more clearly.

Too feminine? What the heck does that even mean in today's PC world? ;)

Hi Diane,
I haven't had any forwards for a while, then would you believe it? I had 2 pieces forwarded for the beer commercial. Both were completely different styles though. One was a high-tech, almost EDM style piece, whilst the other was a swampy slide guitar with just some ragged drums beneath it. The latter track was actually played on the Taxi TV episode last week on this very topic (although I didn't really pick up any comments on it). The main thing that was clear from the show was that the styles of all the tracks played were quite different, so it was probably difficult for the client to define what they really wanted. Also, I wouldn't feel too bad about a reject on this one, as they said there were over 1000 submissions and only about 70 forwards. If you have 90mins to spare, then watch the Taxi TV show to find out more.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,
Graham.
