Hey Paulie, dudes n dudettes,

I've just got a MacBook, so looking forward to getting into the Logic X stuff and Space Designer etc.

But something I did last year was download (for free) a load of Lexicon impulse responses, to load into the Cubase convolution verb engine - I've perceived a huge improvement in a of mixes as a result. Of course you need to be mindful of EQ the verbs and delays as well where necessary. I guess a high and low pass is a good way to start, so the effects are more subtle.

I downloaded the PCM90, Halls, Plates and Rooms. They're awesome, and highly recommended by the big-hitters.

In searching for a link, I found this http://signaltonoize.com/?page_id=4188 - which includes loads more to which I'm salivating over and will download in due course!

You're on a Mac, so here is an article regarding installation (referring to Space designer mind you, but I'm assuming similar deal) - http://logic-pro-expert.com/logic-pro-b ... drn7_lVhHx

(I downloaded them after getting the link in a Groove3 tut, but I don't have access to now).

I love Replika delay as well and use it on loads of stuff. Some nice ping pong delays on your lead sounds can really blow up your mix. Really easy to use too, lovely interface.

I usually use the tape delay on just about everything.

The algo reverbs give a number of different sounds. And the Space Designer has so many built in IRs that you can do SO much with, including creative ones that aren't reverbs.

Space designer also will load any third party IR so you can comb the web for the Bricasti and EMT ones that can be be found for free that I think Scott and Mojo mentioned.

I tend to use the EMT140 250 and LX224 UAD verbs but I also filter the signal going into them and occasionally compress / distort the returns to make different sounds. Never seem to run out of options.
Yes, there's Reverberate LE, the free mono-only version, but I bought the full version, cuz I'm a PC; if you're a Logic user, you can use all those free high-quality IRs in true stereo, natively, like Andy said. I've taken this long to upgrade to UAD or something like it, cuz stereo reverb is something of a specialty, as far as I'm concerned. I think stereo delays are easier to hear; you really need a dedicated listening environment to hear stereo 'verb properly.
