TAXI forward becomes another Library deal!!

I just got off the phone with the owner of an A-List Prestigious Music Library in greater LA. TAXI forwarded some Crime-Show music to him a while back and he loved the stuff. Contracts are on the way.

On the phone, the owner was telling me that he gets so much music that it takes a lot of time to go through the things that get sent to him... so that is why it took him a couple of months to get to me. I didn't know while on the phone when the cues had been forwarded to him, it's a non-issue for me... After all, He's signing my stuff! But I just looked back in my forwards, and it looks like these were from October and November.

You've heard Michael Laskow say it, folks. This is just the way this industry works. Keep making music and getting it out there. Let the rest take care of itself. There's no sense staring at the phone.

Awesome, congrats Russell! And thanks for sharing the inside scoop. It helps us beginners understand what the process looks like. Given that it is becoming more and more affordable to generate music, I'm sure the libraries are getting swamped with unsolicited requests, and surely some crappy material as well. This is why Taxi is great, it helps them filter through the plethora of material.

Yeah, Paul, it's information like this shared in these Forums that helped me learn about this business from others. I still have stuff to learn, though. That's why I frequent the Forums and Watch TAXI TV every week, AND attend the TAXI ROAD RALLY.

p.s. uh-oh... i just reverse searched the number the Library Owner left in my voice mail... it appears he gave me his cell-phone number... OH CRAP!! I need to flag that... to make sure I don't accidentally call it and bother him with silly admin stuff when he's on the golf course. (that's another thing probably left to another Thread... Professional Courtesy)
