Hi everyone!
I'm hoping someone will have insight on this: I am working on a song that has a piano track with some sustain pedal automation. The problem is, there is this weird thumping sound every time the sustain kicks in. I have no idea why this is happening! It is a midi track, I am using logic and Kontakt. This is driving me insane!
EDIT: Never mind! A restart of my computer has somehow fixed the issue. Go figure

I had a similar problem that turned out to be a feature, not a bug; real sustain pedals actually have a bit of thump and the programmers had simply gone a little overboard with the realism. Fortunately, a simple programming tweak took care of it, in my case.

What Mojobone said. It's funny how we've become conditioned to the digital sound. Acoustic pianos have all kinds of noises: hammer rebound, dampers, pedal trapwork, etc. I guess we're so used to hearing their digital counterparts, that actually hearing the sounds of mechanical instruments throw us.
