I'm more than happy to give you a refund, as it looks like TAXI might not be a good fit for you and your music. I wanted to hear your music on Reverbnation, but it appears you've taken it off. I'll check it out later on your TAXI profile.

As for your signature at the bottom of your posts that incorrectly describes TAXI and insults our members (who've been more than patient, kind and helpful to you): demonstrating that level of anger and what some might call a lack of civility in a public forum isn't going to help your cause. I doubt that record labels, publishers, or the artists you'd like to have cut your songs some day would want to work with somebody who would act like that, IMHO.

BTW, the people on this page of our forum ( http://forums.taxi.com/taxi-success-stories-f7.html ) are not doing "jingles."

Call me at 818-222-2464 if you'd like to get a refund of your membership fee.

sincerely,
Michael

If you take the time to dig into the "success stories" part of this forum which you point to, you will notice that the majority of those are indeed jingles; true not all but a majority for certain. Those whom write them most certainly are not offended by making a little scratch from those compositions, quite the contrary they are happy which is why they've boasted about their successful placements. I say, good for them and congratulations - as long as you're happy doing what you enjoy that's a beautiful thing. So for you to get offended and accusatory toward me over that is just silly. You are entitled to your opinion, as am I. However I have not insulted anyone in particular in that signature; it's what is called a blanket statement. A quick search on the web will turn up plenty of reviews stating the same, using verbiage much closer to that which you're accusing me of sir. Lack of civility, seriously? Again, you are entitled to your opinion even if that opinion is accusatory and abusive.

As for my Reverbnation site, there are a couple of non standard basic recordings made last Summer using the built in Voice Memos app on the phone, so obviously you didn't actually take a look/listen. If you ever do, enjoy hearing one of my dogs walking across the floor in the background. The simple fact that you claim to have gone over there and then state there is nothing there is very telling. There are about a dozen or so basic recordings (voice memos) of songs in my ASCAP catalogue so if you have industry access you can find the rest there. Regardless I am sorry that you are offended by my posting my opinion, which turns out to be a pretty popular one across the web anyway. Just the same it was not directed toward you nor was the jingle statement directed toward anyone in particular. Anyway this is getting repetitive...

Yes, I will be calling you later this morning to take you up on your offer. Since I'm in Central time I'll wait for you to have your coffee. I'm glad that I hadn't thought to flag messages from this forum as junk as I had with the "listings" emails otherwise I'd never have seen this offer of a refund for "services" that as you stated, are not a fit.

By the way it's Sallier, singular - although I'm pretty sure you misspelled that on purpose.

Talk soon.

The misspelling wasn't intentional, sorry about that.

Jingles are for advertising. The success story folks are mostly referring to instrumental cues and songs they've placed in TV shows, films, and sometimes commercials. Jingles are more like, "You'll love it at Levitz."

Feel free to call me late this afternoon, Pacific time.

Best,
Michael

No worries then.

It's lunch out there right now, I'll wait another hour or so then give a call.

Peace.

Michael,

You tell me to call and then are specific about timing and then all I get is a nice girl on the phone giving me an address to write to with a letter explaining why a refund is being requested - all of that and you somehow are/were offended by my opinion enough to make accusations as for "...lack of civility...I doubt that record labels, publishers, or the artists you'd like to have cut your songs some day would want to work with somebody who would act like that ..." I guess you think you're funny with this runaround and hypocrisy, any one of those imaginary people from your above quote would not find this type behavior and business practice acceptable. Maybe the guys shooting porn in the office next door find it humorous but it ends there. Not sure why you felt the need to beat around the bush and play this game but I'll make certain to send that registered so that I have proof that it at least gets received; probably should include the screenshots of our conversation I took in a complaint to the Attorney Generals office there as well.

For what it's worth - the time stamp on this website has not automatically reset from daylight-savings time to PST, and reads an hour ahead; therefore... it's not exactly "late afternoon" on the west coast.
This notice initiated at 3:15pm PST.

Good one FunSongs. The two hour difference between here and there is something imbedded in my noggin' for years. It's those friends in AZ that can cause confusion at times as for time differences, or lack thereof considering most of that State ignores the whole "Spring forward, Fall back" theorem. I wish there were an option to give you extra credit/reputation for that one, you deserve it sir. Hope you're having a great night, wherever you are. Hmmmm reminds me of the ending of one of the albums (and one of my favorites, of his anyway) on my bookshelves: "Goodnight Austin Texas, wherever you are!"

Is it possible that when you called Taxi, the person you spoke with didn't realize you were "the person from the forum" who Michael said should call for a refund? I'm sure Michael would want to expedite yours as quickly as possible based on what I've read here. What you heard sounds like the standard policy (which I know for a fact they honor readily).

I've know Michael for over 15 years and I can assure you that if he promises you a refund, he will live up to it.

I was disappointed reading what was in your signature (I won't repeat it) and glad you removed it. Taxi obviously isn't for you but it is very much a legit company, one that has helped countless music people gain success. I am one of those people.

I hope you get your refund ASAP and move on.

Good luck
Casey

Casey,

You're right as rain. I've been in back to back to back meetings all day, and on a live video interview, so the young lady on my staff did what she would normally do for a refund request because I was unavailable. She had no idea about this forum thread.

Porn going on next door?! Wow, who knew?

best,
Michael

P.S. Thanks to all of you who have chimed in on this thread. Very much appreciated!

Casey,

No, I made certain she knew that he contacted me on the forum so no confusion there.

I was upset when I put that in the signature man because I did not read enough into this place to understand that it was primarily, dang near 100%, commercials mixed in with a few tv/movie placements; and I only removed it because I was lead to believe that by calling this afternoon everything would be taken care of. The way the advertising for the site reads, leads one to believe that there are just as many record label placements, which those are very few and far between.

Regardless sorry you were disappointed, again I was ticked off - read my initial post here as for the standard blanket reply of structure. I could go on for hours as for great songs that do not fit into that silly simple format. Fact is, if I had known that only songs in that simpleton format were forwarded I would have never signed up in the first place; well that combined with the overwhelming commercial instrumental/jingle thing. I see those as one in the same personally but again, more power to you and anyone else who enjoys that style of writing - again if you can make any money from doing what you enjoy, your passion, then that's to be commended, appreciated and applauded - it's just not my bag.

Best of luck man.

S.
