I've heard it said before, "Treat you business like a business and it will pay you like a business. Treat your business like a hobby and it will cost you like a hobby."
If you've made a successful business here, I invite & welcome any advice on how you did it, how you're doing it, and how you plan to continue succeeding.
Thanks so very much!

Re: Hobby or business?
Really for me it all has to do with mind-set.
If you think of music as something you do "on the side," that's all it will ever be. But if you view yourself as a PROFESSIONAL and Music as your PROFESSION or CAREER... it will be.

Re: Hobby or business?
I believe it's important to appreciate and value music, know what you can do and what you can't (yet) do, and strive to do the best work you can. I mean, why else communicate through music?
Hobby vs business terminology has never done much for me. Business terminology can put a blanket over the actual things that matter, imo. Either it's a hobby or it's a business, that is just facts about your position in your worklife. Either you take music seriously or you don't. But HOW, that's what matters..
