Taxi in the sky...

Post by Paulie » Sat Oct 03, 2015 9:59 pm

Have been traveling the past two weeks for my new job. I always do my best to make sure I get an aisle seat with the middle seat empty. Four hour flights go by really fast when you are working like this. :) I think I need to find a slightly smaller keyboard though to make it truly compact.

I have the nanopad. You'll also want to download the Korg Kontrol Editor software from their website.
Depending on the controller you can program different things.

For nanokey:

Korg Kontrol Editor software

The nanoKEY2 works with the "Korg Kontrol Editor" software – available free on the Korg website. Load it into your computer, and use it to make detailed customized settings. Choose from a total of four velocity settings: three velocity curves or fixed velocity; specify the control change messages transmitted by the modulation button and the sustain button.

Yeah, the Korg NanoKey was my first thought too.

So... how do you keep that laptop battery running for four hours!

It's a Macbook Air... they run a long time. I just make sure I'm fully charged when I get on the plane. :)

I don't know If i'd wanna go any smaller with the keyboard, but the mini-keys on my DX100 never bothered me much. They might have, if they were velocity-sensing.

How do you find an empty middle seat these days? I haven't seen one of those in years!

Good question. I always check in 24 hours before the flight, I look for seating assignments to see if there are any open rows at all. Then I aim for the back of the plane because they usually fill from the front first when adding passengers last minute. I'm right handed so I like the aisle to keep my right elbow free from regular interruption/contact with people in the aisle. This helps me determine whether to go right side or left side of the plane.
