Piano solo request

RE: http://forums.taxi.com/post495827.html#p495827
hey could you post this up on peer to peer - and let us know what VIs you're using?
Hi Vikki, Don't know what "VIs" are? Sample files maybe?

If so, (and don't laugh) I'm mixing the old school "S*A piano" sound from my trustee Kawai K4 synth (circa 1989) plus a Kawai GMega sound module grand sample with both their stock effects.

Here's a short taste of the raw sound:

And another with the effects described above in the link from the other board:

Howdy Nolo.

VI = Virtual Instrument. It's a software rendering of an instrument and is often a collection of samples to best replicate the sound of the original.

Hey Nolo,

I don't think there's any way to sugarcoat this. You would really benefit from updating your piano sound. I'm not sure if your setup includes a computer and MIDI capability, but if so, there are many great-sounding virtual pianos available. You will be amazed at the difference!

A couple of possibilities: Pianoteq (by Modartt) or Addictive Keys (by XLN Audio). Many others as well. If you aren't using a DAW (digital audio workstation) and prefer to use a keyboard that produces its own piano sounds, there are a number of options as well. Here's a recent Forum discussion that may be helpful:

Good luck with it!

Richard
