Solitaire and Lonely Songs ©2016 Robert George BMI
Solitaire and lonely songs
And a lemon margarita that needs more salt
And the ghost of your perfume,
Haunts the curtains in this room
Telling me that it’s not your fault
All my weaknesses have been exposed
Then my spirit rips apart
When the night comes calling and the hours won’t pass
So I stitch the ragged seams,
With regret and drunken dreams
But I know those stitches don’t last
And somehow my sorrow only grows
These days it seems like not too many care
That lasting love can’t be discovered anywhere
Some live for independence…some for love
I lived for both and now I need the comfort of
Solitaire and lonely songs
Cos I have so much I must atone for
And I’ve learned that honesty,
Is the most important key
And if only I had shown more
Then mine would’ve been the path you chose
These days it seems like not too many care
That lasting love can’t be discovered anywhere
Some live for independence…some for love
I lived for both and now I need the comfort of
Solitaire and lonely songs
Solitaire and lonely songs…
