I do get attached to music I make. But not in the way that I have to make sure they go to a good home like puppies.
I enjoy them, they make me dance a little in the studio and I hope they get heard one way or another.
Do your get attached to your songs?

Re: Do your get attached to your songs?
I love my songs dearly, they are the essence of my life's journey, recreated in melody and lyrics. They are the inspired flashes that come to me, the excitement and anticipation of sharing them is all the worthwhile for spending the hours crafting them, to me they are the distillation of ideas focused to a narrow laser beam that cuts through.
I have a same experience on the receiving end hearing other peoples songs.
there can never be too much music as far as I'm concerned, music is vibration,
and the energy of the universe is vibration. In the life force that animates it
is a marvel in itself. therefore songs that come from the heart and spirit
have such extraordinary power.

Sometimes I do get attached, sometimes never hearing them again is a good thing!

I let them go and make money. I want people to enjoy my music so try and get them out there as soon as possible. I guess I dont get attached then.
When writing I have tons of tracks I've worked on but have to shelf them or delete them if I feel they are not going anywhere. Just got to move on to the next idea. Never stop moving forward.
I'm always evaluating my tracks in my catalog and the weak ones get retired and replaced with new stronger tracks.
I call it tough love.

Re: Do your get attached to your songs?
The better I got at writing, the less attached I got to songs. Still, I love some songs I've written similarly to how I love some non-pop songs; I just recognize they don't fill the roles I'm trying to fill.
Like radiohead for example is fun and has deep meaning to me, but it's not catchy enough for most people to like unless they WANT to like it; so it's not good role-model material and I only listen to it on occasion.
