50/50 is fairly standard - unless they have paid a buyout fee in which case you'd typically get no share of syncs or a smaller share in some rare cases.
Yes, there could be quite decent royalties (nothing is guaranteed) but remember that most such exclusives with worldwide distribution still pay 50/50 of *all* sync fees and you get writer royalties.
Did you say it's your first deal? When you start out, sometimes you get offered less than ideal opportunities but you can use them as leverage. Then when you approach other companies you can say, "I've written for ABC Music and XYX Trax." This increases your credibility and sets you apart from the million other writers with no experience flooding them with submissions. It means they're more likely read your whole email and listen to your links.
