Hello HERES MY EASTERN INDIA ATTEMPT ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

INDIAN INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a UK Music Library with a very long and impressive list of great placements in Film and TV. They're currently building several new catalogs for their library, and are scrambling to find a bunch of fresh, new music! Please submit well-crafted Instrumental Cues that either have a completely traditional Indian sound, or something that uses traditional Indian instruments coupled with some modern elements. Quoting the source: "We are looking for music for our 'Indian' library album. We are looking for tracks that would sit well in documentaries about India, it's culture, food, etc. The music should either be 100% authentic Indian instruments, or could contain subtle, tasteful modern elements, but should not sound like it's a different genre with just a sprinkling of an Indian flavor!" Why is my mouth watering as I'm writing this? Please submit original Instrumental Cues that capture the true ethnic Indian sound. Build your Cue around a traditional Indian instrument, while adding and subtracting layers of instrumentation as your Cue progresses. Here's a link of Indian instruments that might come in handy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_mu ... nstruments. All submissions should be at least 2 minutes long with easy edit points and natural, non-faded, buttoned endings. Broadcast Quality is needed (Great sounding home recordings are fine). This company offers an EXCLUSIVE 50/50 deal, and an 80/20 split in the Writer's favor for any applicable download fees by clients from their Library! Please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. You'll get 100% of the Writer's share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher's share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), on Monday, February 8th, 2016. TAXI #Y160208IC

Submit to this listing TAXI # Y160208IC ITS CALLED A LAND OF WONDER not to original but it will do for now HTTP://WWW.SOUNDCLOUD.COM/777RD THANKS, RON :)

The parts sound recorded a bit too close to the mic. The Tambourine/cymbals, etc ... in particular.

The composition is good, quite varied.
(I don't know how that factors in to its "forwardability.")

The drums are good, but the tamborine/cymbals sound a little unconfidently played.
Maybe practice the parts a little more and play more with the fingertips.

Really good work, so far. With some tweaks, I think you may have library gold here.

Cheers.

Nice piece, good writing! I would agree, however, that you could back off the percussion elements a bit. Perhaps give it a little more space, i.e.convolution, not so hot in the mikes. Good work!

I agree with what's said above: the heavy percussion could get in the way of the dialogue in a documentary. It is agree a good track, though. Good luck.

I really like the variety in this piece with the fast and slow movements. The build is very nice, and there's enough "air" so that it won't over power the dialogue above.

One picky thing: in the fast movement, you go up the Indian scale very beautifully, but my ears caught an "uncertain" triplet in there -- just the last three notes before the final climactic note.

If you have piano roll, you could go in and make sure that all the notes of the triplet are equal value (if you have a visual grid you can divide the grid into thirds instead of fourths and it will come out right).

FWIW: and this is just my gut feeling, but it sounds like a keyboard player to me.
ie - doesn't sound authentic.
The samples/synthesized instruments are of good quality but they are VERY bass heavy, and sound like they they are being played by a piano/keyboard player...in the approach.
It's hard to describe - but if you listen to something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ce2xatH4lw
you can hear so much more inflection and "character" to the bansuri flute almost as if instead of playing it - he makes it SING.
Which is possible with a keyboard, but you'll have to spend a lot of time tweaking with your mod wheel and/or pitch bend commands in the midi sequence.

Percussion might also be an issue for you. (too bass heavy and not quite enough high end talking/rolling in there)
I'm not hearing any of the bwump sounds that tablas typically make or the high end click-roles.

Anyway - sorry to be a downer.
I want to emphasize that I REALLY like this little piece, and as I mentioned it SOUNDS good - ie mix seems good.

Good luck with it!
I hope I'm wrong/just being too critical for no reason.
