Get on and Ride ©2016 Robert George BMI
Sometimes life gets tangled in confusion and red tape
Life without meaning needs a means of escape
Tonight the moon’s a saber…silver, curved and sharp
I walk out back to my bike and pull off the tarp
Born to be an asphalt cowboy ‘neath the midnight sky
So I rub the saddle, buff the chrome a bit and then I
Get on and ride
A stallion made of steel
Cos when the world’s beneath my wheels
I’ve got freedom to turn to
So when it seems I don’t belong
And all I know is wrong
Then I’m happy that I learned to
Get on and ride
Get on and ride
Some men tend to drink when hope and faith run dry
Others see a shrink when they can’t help but cry
But I don’t need a Freud and I don’t need a bar
Beneath the starry void the wind and road can read my heart
I make sense of life and feel the soul within my dust
So when my dreams are standing still then I just
Get on and ride
A stallion made of steel
Cos when the world’s beneath my wheels
I’ve got freedom to turn to
So when it seems I don’t belong
And all I know is wrong
Then I’m happy that I learned to
Get on and ride
Get on and ride
Get on and ride
Born to be an asphalt cowboy ‘neath the midnight sky
I get on and ride…
Get on and Ride
