Hello!
Hello fellow Taxi members!
My name is Matt Irwin and I'm a singer/songwriter from Nashville, TN. I moved from Southeast Missouri to TN about 3 years ago to continue my pursuit of creating music for a living. My "master plan" was to move to Nashville, find some like minded musicians, and get outta town (tour regionally, etc). I'm happy to say that moving to Nashville has been the best decision I've ever made although none of my aforementioned "plans" have worked out. Since the move, I have been blessed with finding a wonderful wife and we have a beautiful 2 year old daughter. These girls mean more to me than touring and sharing my music ever could. That being said, the music is in me, it is my outlet, and it's my passion. I have been checking out taxi for over a year, debating with myself, and deciding if it was right for me. I started submitting songs to opportunities on a site called Music X-Ray a few years ago and had a little success (signed one library deal for a single song). I look forward to learning from you folks, as well as providing any input that I can as I pursue creating music for a living while still watching my little girl grow up. I am very excited to be part of what looks like a very supportive community, and hope that over time I can help as well.
Thanks,
Matt Irwin

Re: Hello!
Hi Matt,
I hope this becomes the second 'best decision' you've ever made.
Welcome and good luck in your endeavours.

Re: Hello!
Hi!
I have a 2.5 yo son myself.
It'd sure be awesome to work from home full time!
Me and my wife worked out a schedule for hours I'm working on music and hours I'm available for the family.
It has been super helpful to make an agreement concerning the space (a tiny room in the attic) and time slots during which I can work without being disturbed.
Not only just knowing nobody will disturb me but (maybe even more so) knowing that within those hours I have to finish the work I want to finish, because after that time slot I agreed to be available to my family again.
