more than 8 minutes of my music in an episode

Post by Russell Landwehr » Mon Apr 25, 2016 7:11 pm

This is the kind of thing a TAXI forward turns into.

A library owner emailed me this weekend to notify me of some nice placements in an episode of 16x9 on Global News http://globalnews.ca/canada/

Turns out they used over eight minutes worth of my music on this episode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3t2lXHsTds

You can hear a recurring theme that comes in at :44 that is what got used the most throughout the episode. They used some other cues of mine, but that one really got some traction in the episode.

So, how COOL is it to have a TV show put your music in there for more than 25% of the show! HOLY COW! And another thing that is awesome is that this episode was entirely underscored by this library and chock full of TAXI members' music. :D 8-) :D

In case you are wondering, my relationship with this library came from a TAXI forward a while back. Continued writing to the Library's briefs got me about 25 cues signed so far. They've snagged me some sweet quality placements. :D

Thanks TAXI!
Thanks hard working TAXI-friendly Library!

So - you just about ready to put in notice at your day job?! :?
No more Wichita Lineman - in Ohio...?
Did that just earn you another spot on a panel for RR 2016, too? :)

Fantastic !

That is one spooky cue....Did they put that sound effect on top at around 59s ...sounds like a bird call.

Do you remember what the Listing said when you wrote that or is this something you sent directly to the Library from a non Taxi brief ?

You must be " Chuffed " as we say where I come from lol

Haha! It's a firm 4 years, 1 month and 11 days.
It's a standing joke at work that I will retire, then come back as a manager... and be the worst manager they've ever had... I'll let my employees do whatever they want... what are they gonna do? Fire me?? nah, the worse I am the better chance I have at getting promoted.

heya Dolph, yep, it's the "bees knees" as you would say where you come from
The "bird" effects at :59 is not in my cue. They were probably put there in post by the editor. I think they're tree frogs.

I got the gig with this Library from some forwards on a Hip-Hop listing. So these cues were for the Library's briefs.

Here is the cue in its entirety: https://soundcloud.com/russell-landwehr ... rc/s-E2Qqj
They didn't use the second half of the cue that comes in at 1:21, I heard them loop back into it after the sfx swell right there once, other times they looped back in the cue from a different point.
