Post by HenriettaAtkin » Mon May 02, 2016 3:22 pm

Hi everyone,

My second attempt at the Chillwave genre, and this time a forward! Thank you to screener 387 for the great advice about remixing when it got returned!

CHILLWAVE INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a NON-Exclusive Boutique Music Library with lots of Reality Show placements. They’re searching for Down-to-Mid-Tempo Chillwave Instrumental Cues that you’d find on playlists with artists like (but not limited to) Blackbird Blackbird, Toro y Moi, Evan Abeele, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references to get in the stylistic wheelhouse of what they’re looking for: “Blurred Lines” by Blackbird Blackbird https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vosGQ_52zpM “Minors” by Toro y Moi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs9u0vgBzV0 “Better Days” by Evan Abeele https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VykNC-B_l8 Although the references have vocals, please submit instrumentals only for this pitch. Please submit well-crafted Chillwave Cues with a relaxed, atmospheric vibe, and current-sounding, groovy beats. Your electronic elements should be well balanced using a nice smooth bass or sub-bass on the low end, atmospheric pads giving texture to the mid-range, and lush, dreamy leads on top delivering the melody. Build your Cue around a central melodic theme while layering additional instruments in and out as your Cue progresses to keep it from sounding too repetitive or linear. Be sure all your instruments and effects sound current, and avoid please anything frenetic or overly busy that could disrupt the chill vibe, and be a distraction from dialog in scenes the piece could be placed in. All submissions should be at least 2 minutes long, with short intros, and non-faded, natural, buttoned endings. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for texture, tone, and vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (Great sounding home recordings are fine). This Library offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 Deal. You’ll get 50% of any applicable sync fees and 100% of the Writer’s share. The Publisher will get 50% of applicable sync fees and 100% of the Publisher’s Share on the version they pitch. You’ll keep 100% of the original copyright. You must own or control the Master and Copyright to submit to this pitch. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by TAXI - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Sunday, April 3rd, 2016. TAXI #D160403CW
