"on target for this listing" returned

Post by melodymessiah » Mon May 09, 2016 11:14 am

just had a song returned ticked "on target for this listing". always thought this would mean a forward. happened to anyone else?

reading the critique makes me think the screener just ticked the wrong box by mishap. maybe he was in a hurry to take a crap before it went in his pants... :P

Lots of returns are "on target for this listing". That just means the general style of the song matches what the listing is looking for such as a song being a soft, sad singer-songwriter tune. But getting a forward goes beyond just being "on target", all the other variables have to line up per the listing as well-- production quality, lyrics, melody, performance, etc.

Conversely for a return, you can have a song be "off target" but still great, even getting 9's and 10's. That might be a great rock song submitted for a country listing, for example.

HTH?

Yep, I've had that. The 'overall comments' section should explain why it is returned.

Hope this helps

It is quite possible for a screener to accidentally tick the wrong box. In these cases, it's worth an email/call to Taxi to have it checked.
