Direct to supervisor acoustic indie folk forward

Post by robbiejhancock » Mon May 23, 2016 8:53 pm

Got the nod for one of my songs called Shine. Fingers crossed and thanks to screener #325 for sending it through. Here is the tune:

U160507IF

INTIMATE, ACOUSTIC-based INDIE FOLK SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for many NON-Exclusive, $3,000 placements by the Music Supervisor of a Feature Film. The Supervisor is looking for intimate, reflective, Down-to-Mid-Tempo Songs that could be found on playlists with artists like (but not limited to) A.A. Bondy, Marissa Nadler, J. Tillman, Sharon Van Etten, etc., etc., etc. Please take a listen to the references the Supervisor gave us to get an idea of what could work for this Film: “A Slow Parade” by A.A. Bondy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EePkaW6pALY “Leave The Light On” by Marissa Nadler: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3uH8ipVEmA “Love No Less Worthy” by J. Tillman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34jx3snEXCo “Give Out” by Sharon Van Etten: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exJ3AG0JIeo Quoting the Music Supervisor: “The film is a dark and dramatic modern day love story, with a really well-known cast, similar to the Film ‘Unfaithful.’ We’re looking for moody, dark, emotional, lost love, soul-searching type songs. Songs should be able to support and play under very emotional scenes and montage sequences.” Give them well-crafted songs with emotionally engaging melodies, thought provoking lyrics, and a vocal performance that’s delivered in a intimate, sincere, and captivating way. Instrumentation can be solely acoustic, or have a fuller band sound, but should be somewhat consistent with the references above. Introspective lyric themes about lost love will work really well for this pitch, but don’t limit yourself to just that idea!. Universal lyrics will work best, so please avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). These will be Non-Exclusive, $3,000, Direct-to-Supervisor placements, and you’ll keep 100% ownership of your copyright and master recordings. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI A&R person handpicked by the Music Supervisor. No full critiques. Please submit 1-3 Songs online or per CD, no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Saturday, May 7th, 2016. TAXI #U160507IF

Gorgeous track, Robbie. It's right in that "Civil Wars" pocket that seems to get licensed so much. I especially love the chorus interplay between lead and bg vox. Great work!
