Hi All,

Here's a song I've just finished, it's called 'We Don't Talk About It':

Any feedback at all would be much appreciated!

I've added a new riff in the second and third verses, which comes back with a heavier guitar version in the final chorus.
Does this work?
All feedback, mix, etc. welcome.

Cheers.

Hey Steve, great song well done.

I really like your vocals, the low and high vocals work really well.

My thoughts;
The second and third verses are longer than the first and they usually like the second verse shorter than the first and any subsequent verses.

I was struck at first that it sounded a bit like Song 2 by Blur.

Maybe check out the snare sound against some similar sounding tracks.

I thought a drummer might lead in to the heavier choruses with some snare hits or some such.

But I ain't no drummer.

Cool track.

Hi Les!

Thanks for your time and feedback! Great points!

As for the snare, it was competing a bit with the vocal, so I ducked out the top end of the drum loop,.. which really brought the vocal out.
I don't know if I've gone too far with it, or if it is possible to have the best of both worlds, maybe someone can chime in here.

Song structure - Good point, but I cut the first verse in half as I really wanted to get to the chorus as quickly as possible, keep it really short an punchy. If I half the other verses too, the song would only be a little over a minute or so.

Yes, Blur Song 2,.... I got half way through this song and had that sinking feeling that I had just ripped off someone else's song. Its that rhythm guitar in the verses - which is maybe my favourite part. But then I thought I'll finish it off and hope I get further enough away from Blur that I can use it. I hope I can.

Cheers!
