HI there, Susan and welcome!

First of all, it's very helpful if you cut and paste the listing into your post
so that we know what is expected of the recording.
This sounds plenty clear for a song pitch, but it's a bit spare and journalistic
for film/TV placement.

Also, (I could not stress this more) please please, use Peer to Peer to
really fine-tune your lyrics and melody before spending any hard-won money
on a pro studio.

All the best.

Sorry didn't check this post :? I agree with Mr. Burpo about posting the listing. Personally I thought the mix sounded fine.

Thank you for your comments. The listing passed but it was for old style folk and I tried to pass this off but I know it missed. I was just wanting feedback on the recording quality. I appreciate you listening! Susan

If there are references that we could listen to, it may give us a better understanding of why it was returned. Perhaps your track is dryer than the referenced artists or maybe they its not gritty enough or does not use the same production techniques that they use. These are just examples of course, but it's hard to say without something to compare it to.

Hi Joseph-The references were Cat Stevens, Simon & Garfunkel, Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell. Sorry I don't have the links here but I was thinking it was close to the style of "River" by Joni M.. which was on one of the links Susan

Susan,

I listened to your song, and it's lovely. The first thing that popped into my head was musical theatre, not folk, though.

Thank you for taking a listen and for the compliment. I understand the musical theatre comment! Susan
