I like the idea of Bandcamp; they let you control your own destiny, pretty much. I'm on Reverbnbation, but I don't use their platform for selling anything; I did one indie release through them and they botched it, and there's zero recourse, you can't get hold of anyone to fix anything, nor even complain and there's stuff in their fine print that's too onerous for my tastes, anyway. (go ahead on, see if you can find my track on Spotify)
CDBaby is good and reliable, but if you use their distribution channels, it could mean being unable to exclusively license any music you have with them; be sure and read the fine print. HTH

I use Hostbaby, you don't have to connect to CDBaby, but you can if you wish to sell anything you've got on CDBaby. I just like the simplicity and they manage my domain for me, and I like how I can organize my pages and navigation.

Hi Susan,
I use bandzoogle. They have an amazing support, but after a couple of years using their platform, I feel I would need more: under the hood tweaks and modifications are a pain, SEO issues with bots visiting the website..
I've read that wordpress could be a good alternative..
It all depends on the extent of your knowledge in such things

Thanks Edmund. I wonder if it is best to create your own, outside of the established musician sites to get full control... but I don't know if that will work. Susan

The more sites where people can listen to your music, the better. I mean, if you're not already famous, there's no such thing as bad publicity.
