Leaving Taxi for now (success story inspired by Taxi!)
Hi Everyone,
So although this success wasn't directly through Taxi, without Taxi it wouldn't have happened!
I have been in the major music industry since 2010, getting signed to a publishing company on a development deal in the UK, with the idea of allowing me to progress as a producer//writer. That ended 2 years ago and I moved to LA hoping to have greater success in the pop world.
However, it seemed that a lot of seasoned songwriters and producers were moving away from the major music industry and in to the sync world as the money was more guaranteed. I decided to find out what it was all about but it was hard to find any information, even asking contacts I have and that was when I stumbled upon Taxi.
Taxi provided me with vital information about the industry, understanding the type of music that supervisors are looking for and allowed me to refine my skills in composing for sync.
After having a decent amount of forwards in the first couple of months with Taxi and also learning that it can take a long time to get deals, I decided to use some initiative, armed with new information about the industry and a new found confidence thanks to Taxi, I went on the search for music libraries, using any contacts I had to try and get a foot in the door.
Finally, an opportunity came up, through a contact who trusted my musical abilities,, with the CEO of one of the smallest but most profitable libraries out there.
I took the meeting, we hit it off and now I'm working exclusively with this library (they don't like their writers working with other libraries). The CEO made me aware, that several composers at his company are making $100k a month!
Hopefully this story is motivating for some of you, as I was unsure whether there was really, good money in sync. I would say the most important thing is to learn and develop your skills so when an opportunity comes you are ready. Also I've proved to myself, how important networking is so don't be afraid to get out there and use any connection you have, collaborate and help people. Someone will return the favour and you only need one opportunity!
I look forward to meeting some of you at the rally!

Wow, that's cool - My only regret is I can't listen to that track of yours again - the EDM one - bugger! - Unless it's somewhere other than your Taxi page?
Good to know that people are still getting signed to good deals though - It's encouraging
Rock on Tommy! (Ask your Dad if you don't get that! I'm showing my age!!! - 58 and three quarters)
